In life, we often find that problems can go beyond the scope of advice
from friends and family. For those times, counseling can be helpful
to sort through needs, feelings and behaviors, examine beliefs, make
decisions and take action toward more effective living. |

Our counselors are discrete and conversations are confidential. Your
counselor will listen and work with you toward meeting your goals.
Through this process you will begin to manage and cope with your
personal, social, emotional and/or spiritual issues. Your session
may include:
• working through unresolved issues,
• developing new and more effective ways of coping,
• facilitating better communication,
• building and strengthening relationships and support structures,
• learning to more fully experience God's healing presence. |

Counseling can be beneficial to many people in a variety of situations,
including:
• A family or individual in crisis,
• A concerned parent regarding their child's behavior and emotional
well-being,
• A couple struggling to resolve conflict,
• An individual with a history of emotional, physical or sexual abuse,
• A person dealing with grief,
• Someone experiencing stress or persistent dissatisfaction related
to employment, home or school,
• A person feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, anger, depression or hopelessness.
|
Group settings allow people to journey with, and learn from, other
individuals who are experiencing a similar life situation. Many people
encounter significant healing through the group dynamics. Some groups
may require pre-entry interviews prior to joining a group with a
goal of creating cohesiveness. Other groups may be more flexible,
allowing people to come and go from the group depending on their
need. Group topics include:
Self-Esteem Grief
Support Divorce
Recovery Parenting
Classes Formational
Prayer Marriage
Mentoring Pre-Marital Counseling |

Our clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques.
You may seek counseling based on past events or a current crisis.
The technique used will depend on the issue that is brought to the
counseling session. Our therapists have experience in Cognitive Behavior
Therapy to modify cognitions, assumptions and behaviors; Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and abuse; Imago
Relationship Therapy for marital counseling; and Formational Prayer
for spiritual healing. If during therapy it seems as though you may
need further support we may make a confidential referral to another
mental health professional. |
